Trident Construction is currently providing our proven TEAM BUILD process for 22 WestEdge, a world-class, eight-story office building located in Charleston’s “Discovery District”. The first floor will consist of 15,750 SF of retail space and the upper seven floors of office will encompass 138,500 SF of class A office with unparalleled views of the city and the Ashley River.

WestEdge is a 50-acre urban infill project jointly led by the City of Charleston and the Medical University of South Carolina through the Horizon Project Foundation, Inc. The development plan calls for nearly three million square feet of residential, research, office, parking garages, and retail space along the Ashley River site.

The design included reusing existing masonry, steel elements and adding the exterior wood accents to hearken back to the building’s history. The renovated building core and structural improvements allows tenants the freedom to customize their spaces.

The project includes nine buildings, bathrooms, locker rooms, open pavilions, six water slides, a quarter mile lazy river, wave pool, ticket booth office, two bridges, zero entry pool and a children play area.

Through a competitive interview process, Trident Construction was selected to perform our collaborative TEAM BUILD construction manager at risk services for this multi-phase, three building complex for the Town of Mount Pleasant. The project includes new construction of a Transfer Building, a Fleet Maintenance Building and an Administration Building.

The project is currently in the planning and design stage. The project is to be completed in two phases. The first phase including the construction of the Transfer Building and the second phase including the construction of the Administration Building and the Fleet Maintenance Building.
