Restoring a Tidal Creek in Maryville

Trident Construction’s team had the opportunity to volunteer with SCDNR and the SC Aquarium this week, restoring a tidal creek in Maryville. Alongside other volunteers, we went to work in the West Ashley mud. The goal of the effort was to restore marshland and fix ongoing water problems in the area.

The volunteer team helping SCDNR, Charleston Waterkeeper, and the South Carolina Aquarium worked for five days to get the job done. The team dug out mud by hand to build a new water inlet near the Ashleyville and Historic Maryville neighborhood. The new channels will help retain water and route incoming water.

Restoring a tidal creek in Maryville made for a great bonding experience with our Trident family. Thanks for the opportunity, SCDNR!
