AGRU America, Inc. – Manufacturing Facilities

Charleston, SC and Georgetown, SC

Trident Construction was selected to complete two manufacturing facilities for Agru America. Both projects used our proven TEAM BUILD design-assist services.

The 53,000 SF Georgetown manufacturing facility consists of a 38,000 SF manufacturing building, a 10,000 SF administration building, and a 5,000 SF testing laboratory to produce geomembrane liner.

The 51,000 SF Charleston facility manufactures custom high-density polyethylene pipes as large as 8 feet in diameter and 2,000 feet long. The Charleston waterfront location allows the lightweight pipes to be extruded directly into a river for towing by ocean-going vessels.

James Hardie – Manufacturing & Distribution Facility

Summerville, SC

This design/build project required the preparation of a 40 acre site and construction of a 180,000 SF manufacturing and distribution facility. As a fast-track project, this manufacturing process for cementitious board includes rail side delivery of raw products, elevated mixing hoppers, autoclave dryers, cutters, bundlers, and automated warehouse storage equipment.

LATI USA – Headquarters & Processing Facility

Summerville, SC

This manufacturing facility is the North American headquarters for LATI International, an Italian manufacturer of custom colorized extruded plastic pellets. This project features extensive overhead delivery systems for raw materials, a complex process recovery system, deep trenches, and a highly reliable uninterrupted power system.

The facility was recently purchased by Force Protection, a national defense contractor.

Lauscha International Fiber – North American Headquarters

Summerville, SC

As the North American headquarters and manufacturing facility for a German specialty synthetic fibers manufacturer, this project was constructed using Trident Construction’s proven TEAM BUILD process. The facility includes high-bay areas for high temperature product formulation, heavy foundations to support the equipment, finished product warehouse, and corporate offices.

Mankiewicz Coatings

Wando, SC

Mankiewicz Coatings is an international manufacturer of high quality specialty coatings. When looking for a new mixing and distribution facility in Charleston, Mankiewicz called on Trident Construction to renovate an existing 20,000 SF building that was formerly utilized for medical equipment assembly and distribution. Extensive renovations were required to adapt the building to the new use, including the addition of fire barriers to separate rack storage and mixing rooms; the addition of a fire sprinkler system; the replacement of HVAC systems; the replacement of lighting, electrical service and distribution upgrade; and the addition of a 2,400 SF mechanical and electrical room. Renovations also included high hazard occupancy requirements, since Class I flammable and Class II & III combustible liquids are handled at the facility.

Maquet – Arcadia Publishing

Mount Pleasant, SC

As the North American headquarters for a German manufacturer of specialty medical equipment, this project includes corporate offices, product assembly areas, product storage, and a shipping area. The building was originally designed for Maquet, but is now occupied by Arcadia Publishing.

Pegasus Steel

Goose Creek, SC

This project included the construction of a 100,000 SF speculative industrial shell building, which is now occupied by Pegasus Steel. For Pegasus Steel, Trident Construction provided design/build services which included the construction of deep equipment foundations, pits, and electrical upgrades to accommodate heavy steel manufacturing.

Rapid Granulator – North American Headquarters

Goose Creek, SC

Serving as the North American headquarters for a Swiss manufacturer of product recycling equipment, this project includes a product assembly area, product storage, shipping warehouse, and corporate offices.

Scout Boats – Headquarters & Manufacturing Facility

Summerville, SC

This 100,000 SF pre-engineered building is the headquarters and manufacturing facility for Scout Boats.

The facility is climate-controlled and houses two 6,000 lb bridge cranes, a sophisticated 400 SF tank for water testing, a high-tech vacuum molding system, a quality control laboratory, and an employee fitness center.

UEC Electronics – Manufacturing Facility & Corporate Offices

North Charleston, SC

This multi-project program included the design coordination and construction of a new 19,000 SF manufacturing facility, corporate offices, modifications and expansion to an existing manufacturing/assembly facility, and security improvements for each building.
